Hebron Hawks Varsity’s effort to come back from down seven runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 9-7 to Trinity on Tuesday.

Hebron Hawks Varsity scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Michael Betrus in the sixth and a grand slam by Zachary DeLoach in the seventh.

Kyle Duerson earned the win for Trinity. He went six innings, allowing three runs, five hits, striking out eight, and walking one. Kris Velasquez threw two-thirds of an inning, as two relievers helped Trinity finish off the victory. Landon Muzzy took the loss for Hebron Hawks Varsity. He threw four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, five hits, striking out seven, and walking one.

Hebron Hawks Varsity collected six hits. Michael Betrus and DeLoach each collected multiple hits for Hebron Hawks Varsity. DeLoach and Betrus all
had two hits to lead Hebron Hawks Varsity.

Brock Pacheco went 1-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
